That depends on what newspapers you're looking for.  Many newspapers are available in the Lexis Nexis database.  Many SD newspapers are only available on their own web sites.  The Argus Leader is available in the ProQuest newspapers database.  There is the South Dakota Historical Newspaper Index which includes indexes for the Black Hills Daily Times, Indian Country Today, Rapid City Journal, SDSU Collegian Index and the Sioux Falls Argus-Leader.

The South Dakota Newspapers Association (SDNA) has a list of SD newspapers--https://www.sdna.com/directory--some of the papers have online links. Also see the SDNA Public Notices: https://sdpublicnotices.newzgroup.com/
